The Cross family has had a deep connection with the Lake District for over 50 years. It all began with our family’s work as a rural vet based in Kendal, visiting farms across the valley. The next generation was born in Kendal and spent their childhood exploring the Lakes, creating lasting memories of holidays in the area. When we had children of our own, it was only natural that our family traditions continued, with Chapel Stile becoming a firm favorite for our getaways.

Having stayed in many of the village’s cottages over the years, we jumped at the opportunity to purchase Daffodils Cottage in 2021. After a year of welcoming guests, we realized the cottage deserved a complete renovation and extension to meet the high standards we look for when we go on holiday.

Now, three generations of our family continue to enjoy spending time at Daffodils, which is why it isn’t always available to let! We hope our guests love it as much as we do and that it becomes a special place for making lasting memories in the heart of the Langdale Valley.
